Umm.

I'm 24 pages into Michael Chabon's Summerland (Ari's latest reading assignment), and I have 2 pages of notes on it already. There's a lot in there. Ari's a bit further in than I am, and so far he says it's "boring." I wonder if his complete lack of interest in baseball (or sports in general) might be getting in the way. But I think once the fantasy parts gear up, he'll get into it. I hope so, anyway, because it's over 400 pages long, and that's a long time to be bored. I finally caved to his relentless requests for a Facebook account, and I noticed that he put Tuck Everlasting as one of his two favorites under books. Confession: I've never been able to get into any grown-up Michael  Chabon books myself. Though I've only tried half-heartedly. I always start thinking about how his wife doesn't love their kids, and I get all distracted. (I know she didn't really say she doesn't love them. I was kidding). Anyway, I'm not bored with Summerland at all. I think I might go read some more of it right now! Then maybe I'll give that Kavalier and Clay another shot!
