Except for preview day. Dave has post-planning Tuesday and Wednesday this week, so we're going to do "preview day" on Tuesday, trying out our new schedule for the fall and taking a look at the new stuff we already have on hand. And then Wednesday we'll do some kind of low-key end of the year celebration. It might involve ice cream. And then the madness that is June begins, with two kid birthday parties and then our Cape Cod trip. This year's planned side trips include Six Flags in New Jersey, either the natural history museum or a walking tour of DC or maybe Mt. Vernon, the Oak Ridge Children's Museum (which we went to a few years ago--actually the year I was pregnant with Gus, I think--and were pleasantly surprised by), and a couple of days in Boston.
The year kind of petered out in a really non-dramatic way. We were finished with most stuff a few weeks ago, so lately we've been doing writing, math, and reading every day, and then just finishing little things up here and there. Ari took his end of the year Caesar's English test and got a 98 on it! He has requested more tests next year (yeah, I know. Shrug), so I'm going to order the tests that go along with Story of the World 2. I think there are tests with Plato science, too, so between those and his Caesar's English 2 tests, I hope he'll be satisfied.
I've spent much of the weekend cleaning out and organizing the school room, and now I have 4 boxes of books to take to Goodwill, a whole bunch of recycling, some stuff listed on the WTM for sale board, and...empty shelf space! Which is a very good thing, since I have a bunch of stuff on the way from Amazon and more that I need to order.
I never did my big April poetry post [hangs head in shame]. So I'm going to try to put the video of Gus doing Jabberwocky here, at least:
