First (full) day!

Three more days of game camp this week, so we're still easing in, but we did a full day today. I feel like the whole beginning of the year is lacking in ceremony this year. Maybe next week we'll get ice cream on Monday or something. Anyway. First full day! Was very, very...full. It was just this side of overwhelming, and I'm trying to decide if it will get better as we get more used to it or worse as we burn out. We'll see! Everyone practiced piano, even. Unprecedented! Now the dog has been walked (by the kids) and the floor has been vacuumed (by me), and we're all staring at screens for awhile to recover.

First thoughts:
*I have too many kids. And I only have three. I don't see how people with more kids do it. It's great when we're all together, but when I try to have each kid do something different, I feel like not enough people.
*Doing MCT is more fun with Milo than with Ari because Milo is not afraid to answer open ended questions.
*Milo suddenly loves math and does it for fun sometimes. Weird.

Planning out extracurricular stuff is consuming most of my time lately, it seems. I have finally talked Milo into picking something (other than homeschool soccer) to do, and he's picked...guitar! That works. He also does piano with Dave, so he'll be very musical now. I have three places in mind for guitar lessons. currently playing phone tag with the one I'm most interested in. It's the place where Gus will probably be taking tap either soon or after the new year, so I'm thinking that's a good way to streamline things. For some reason, guitar lessons around here all seem to cost either $80-90/month (for weekly half hour lessons) or $125/month. There is no in between. It's a little strange. So I'm checking out the places in the first category that sound good...

And, hey, said phone tag place just called me back! They sound very nice. Guitar lessons are only on Wednesdays, and tap is on Mondays, so it wouldn't actually streamline stuff much at all. Hmm....but complicating decision making further, they're waiving the registration fee if we sign up by next Monday. Decisions! They are hard!
